Work It Girl! My 20-Minute Conditioning Routine for Fall

Happy Tuesday Morning Ladies!  I think I am smelling something called Fall in the air … or maybe it is this nice, dry breeze that seems to be welcoming me in the mornings and evenings now.  Whatever it is – it is SO nice 🙂  And, as I am quickly reminded, along with Fall comes the busyness of school … plus multi-sport schedules for the kids … a little sprinkle of fun with holiday get togethers and events … and BAM – you’ve got yourself a bonafide full schedule!  Well … this little mamma needs to get some workout in somewhere, and somehow.  Therefore, to add some conditioning to my few days a week of yoga, I started to do 2-3 days, a week, of 20-minute conditioning activities that is already getting my yoga pants to feel just a little more comfortable – is that even possible?!?!?

So, I thought, no need to be stingy with my routine and share this because I know I’m not alone with trying to fit in pockets of exercise to keep myself healthy.  Therefore, I captured below the exercises and repetitions I’m doing.

AND, if you’re like me, music always gives me a beat to count my repetitions and sometimes gets me dancing in between reps (!!!)  So, here you go – my favorite go-to music videos at the moment that I blast on my Apple cinema screen while hopping around my office / work-out room 🙂

… in no particular order, because I mix it up every time!

  • 2 sets of 30-second elbow planks
  • 2 sets of 20 push ups
  • 2 sets of 20 lunges (10 lunges, per leg … and when doing this I alternate legs)
  • 2 sets of 20 bridges
  • 2 sets of 25 crunches on a yoga ball
  • 2 sets of 15 bicep curls (with a resistance band)
  • 2 sets of 20 split presses (with a resistance band)
  • 2 sets of 20 high rows (with a resistance band)
  • 2 sets of 20 kneeling chops (with a resistance band)
  • 2 sets of 20 side knee raises (with a resistance band)

Maroon 5: Sugar.  Who doesn’t love watching people SO happy when being surprised by Maroon 5 singing at their wedding?!?!?

Sia: Cheap Thrills.  Something about that old meets new dancing montage that gets me going!

Justin Timberlake: Can’t Stop The Feeling.  This guys has been with me, forcing dancing moves out of me, for YEARS.  This song, in particular, gets the whole house dancing in the mornings before school – and now he’s doing the same for my workout!

Alrighty my beautiful friends – I hope you enjoy … and don’t forget, “You’ve got that sunshine in your pocket – so, keep dancing”!!!  — XOXO, Bridge
