Duck and Peach: The Sweetest Family Dinner Recipe

Have you ever thought: Hmmm … I wonder what duck and peach would taste like … together?  This would never had naturally entered my mind, but some few decades ago apparently it did my mother-in-laws and thank goodness for that!  If I haven’t shared already, she is a natural-born foodie that is marvelous in the kitchen.  Her senses and movements in preparing dishes is so harmonious … watching her in the kitchen is now one of my favorite past-times!

I don’t recollect the exact day, or even the exact year I had the pleasure of eating this beautifully blended meal, but I do remember the taste distinctively.  Before having this dish I never thought about eating duck, well … I take that back – I did already fall in love with fois gras, but that isn’t exactly the same!  This duck is more of a tender meat that is served as the primary focus of the dish, with sautéed peaches cooked as the perfect compliment.  It was years ago, at least ten (I remember having it before Max was born … but that is as good as my memory is helping me out on this one!), and no matter how many times this recipe has been made it is almost like I am eating it for the first time, experiencing the same surprise in each bite.  And, as if the taste of this dish wasn’t good enough, the fact it is healthy and doesn’t require a lot of time to prepare, it is no wonder I haven’t resorted to making this at least once a week 🙂  Perhaps I convinced myself some time ago that spoiling yourself to much of one thing will ultimately result in diffusing the appreciation for it’s original pleasure.  But, to be transparently honest, I have NEVER turned down eating this recipe and I’m not confident I’d have the willpower to do so should the opportunity present itself!

Whether you need a simple meal to impress your dinner guests, or a healthy compilation that adds a twist to the mundane menu, this recipe won’t disappoint.  So, from my family to yours, I sincerely hope you enjoy this unique, one of a kind recipe curated many years ago and has now become part of our permanent family recipe vault!
