Howdy and Bonjour my TBSH friends :). It has been a week, or so, since my last official blog post – sorry about that! We have been country-trotting in France and doing that with a family in tote definitely lends difficultly in escaping to write sometimes. But, alas, I am happily back in the blogging sphere!
Important: You HAVE to watch the EuroCup today/ tonight. In France, the games begins at 9:00 p.m., which means my Houston friends, 2:00 p.m. it begins 🙂 Wherever you are, it’s time to get blue, white, and red today!
So, this should be an interesting test to see how many of you are EuroCup followers because this post is about getting ready to support our beloved France tonight as they go up against another great country, Portugal! As you can imagine, we’ve been keeping close eye (and watching EVERY game) of EuroCup 2016, and even more so now that France has made it to the semi-finals – YAY FRANCE! (And, to my sweet friend Claudia whom is both French and Portuagese … Which country will you root for?)
So, for my fellow France supporters, tonight is an important night and if you’re going to support France you need to get ready! So, here are some ideas I have noticed those roaming in France are doing to prepare for an exciting match tonight:
1. Sun-Flaggess! (Sunglasses + Your Favorite Flag Design). These seem to be a craze this year and they are perfect for supporting France. In fact, I noticed a lot of people wearing these not only with the French flag, but other national flags around France. But, let’s get back to what is important – wear your French sunglasses please!
2. Face Stripes. Another awesome craze is the striped flag paint sticks you can now use to decorate your face (or entire body if you are aiming for more!). Super cute – super cheap – super patriotic … And even the kids are having fun with this. So, go get your paint stick and get to striping (not to be confused with stripping … Although we all know France doesn’t mind 😉
3. Wear Your Colors or Jersey. I know in my family ALL of the boys have their French jerseys. And, wouldn’t you know it Max has now his own French jersey with his name put on the back of it. Why? Because my son is convinced he’ll be a professional soccer player (in fact, he has been saying this since he was 3 year’s old … So all eyes are still watching this dream in progress!). And, with France progressing as they have in the EuroCup, you can imagine how motivating this is for him.
And… If you just don’t have these items easily around, you can always resort to wearing your favorite beret, wear the French flag as a cape (or drape it around the house, or pub!), opening a bottle of wine while watching the game, and/or eat some cheese! Also, if you are in Europe and happen to be at the grocery store, get your chocolate and France support on at the same time by getting Nutella!
So, are you watching the match/game tonight? If so, any thoughts on what the final score, or outcome, will be?
